I have been practising family law exclusively for over 25 years at all levels of court in Ontario dealing with cases involving custody, access, child support, spousal support and property division. A large portion of my work also involves mediation and arbitration.
Eric Shapiro
Eric Shapiro was called to the Bar in 1993 (Ontario) and has been practising family law since then in Toronto. Eric has an Honours BA in History from York University and subsequently completed his law degree at the University of British Columbia.
Eric has extensive experience having appeared before every level of court in Ontario arguing complex cases involving child support, spousal support and property division, including appeals before the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Divorce
Demystifying family law is core to my practice. I understand and respect that each family has its own dynamics and therefore unique needs in representation. While divorce is rarely a happy event, my expert grasp on family law helps me steer each of my clients in the best direction and help them move on with their lives.
Mediation/Arbitration
A significant portion of my work also involves mediation/arbitration. People facing the breakdown of their marriage will undergo one of the most stressful parts of their lives, and regardless of their age, education and work status will need and deserve a dedicated professional to help navigate them through the difficult and complex family court system efficiently and cost-effectively.
spousal and child support
I represent my clients to ensure that their rights and entitlements are respected. While every case is different and may have its unique challenges, my commitment to ensure my clients receive fair treatment is what drives my work.
child custody and access
Every child is entitled to a happy childhood. We have laws that focus on the child's best interest along with parental rights and responsibilities. I have over two decades of experience dealing with the complexities of custody and access issues.
